The purpose of the RSEF fair is:
- to stimulate student interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
- to encourage students to engage in research in STEM fields,
- to provide students opportunities to present their research to STEM professionals and the community, and
- to give public recognition to students for their work.
The 34th Annual LCPS Regional Science & Engineering Fair (RSEF) involves over 220 high school students from Loudoun County Public Schools. Students are selected to attend the RSEF by their schools. This year the RSEF categories include: Animal Sciences, Behavioral & Social Science, Biochemistry, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth & Planetary Science, Engineering: Electrical & Mechanical, Engineering: Materials & Bioengineering, Energy & Transportation, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Medicine & Health Sciences, Microbiology, Physics & Astronomy, and Plant Sciences.
The 34th LCPS RSEF will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Freedom High School in South Riding, Virginia. The fair opens to the public at 6:00 pm with the awards ceremony at 7:00 pm.
