YMCA’s Chocolates Galore & More Celebrates 28th Year
Lansdowne Resort Hosts Region’s Sweetest Event
January 13, 2015 – Leesburg, VA – The 28th Annual Chocolates Galore & More event, hosted by Lansdowne Resort, is set to take place February 20, 2015 from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Presided by Mistress of Ceremonies Lisa Herndon from WINC-FM, the event will attract approximately 700 chocolate enthusiasts, including dessert presenters, restaurant presenters, “The Bryan Fox Project” band and guest judges, all in support of the YMCA Loudoun County’s Caring for Community Program ensuring no child or family is ever turned away regardless of inability to pay.
Event attendees will indulge in rich, luscious chocolates, exquisite desserts and mouth-watering hor d’oeuvres, prepared by the area’s finest restaurants and caterers, and showcased in a competition for “Best Presentation” and “Best Taste” (Critic’s Choice will be determined by four local judges and People’s Choice will be judged by event attendees.) Attendees will also enjoy a silent auction, free-flowing champagne, music, dancing and more – all for a great cause. All restaurant presenters volunteer their service and their delicious food!
“Chocolates Galore is a unique event that brings community members together to support programming for our children to learn and grow,” said Laura Fears, Executive Director, YMCA Loudoun County. “This is the largest annual fundraiser for the YMCA, garnering funds that are used to help children in need take part in life-changing programs such as mentoring, summer day camp, and afterschool programming. Without the community’s support of the YMCA, we would not be able to support youth programming at the level we currently do.”
All proceeds from this signature premiere event support the YMCA’s Caring for Community program. Each year, the YMCA Loudoun County provides more than $150,000 in financial assistance for working parents to afford quality after-school and summer camp programs for their children. Meeting the needs of the community require funding combined with the hard work of dedicated volunteers. The YMCA’s mission is to never turn anyone away regardless of inability to pay.
Transaction Network Services (TNS) will once again serve as the event’s title sponsor. Due to TNS’ generosity, Chocolates Galore & More will continue to be Loudoun County’s event of the winter season. TNS is located in Reston, VA and is an industry leader in the payments, financial and telecommunications industries.
